Connecting Vets and Highschoolers Through Golf
Golf has given Wyatt and Van countless memories. It has also built their character and strengthened their overall friendship. Because of their shared love for the game, they decided to take the opportunity to instruct and play golf with veterans this past summer. Through the experience, they not only found joy in helping others progress and spend time together, but they were inspired to take an initiative to nurture a new community. Employing clinics, drills, social bonding opportunities, and tournaments, the young men hope to give back to the guardians of our country and spark joy and a new passion in others. They also want to foster a new community between the youth and veterans, two communities that rarely interact, by bringing along high schoolers to instruct and converse with the veterans. Finally, they hope to make golf more accessible to a larger array of people. As the world gets increasingly more polarized and distressing, they believe programs like this can help unite people, and overall— their biggest goal— make the world a better place.
